Stalingrad will be the first Russian Film to be released in 3D. To film parts of the attack of this epic WWII movie, Marc flew to St. Petersburg to work with our colleagues from Opertech to make this battle come true on the screen. To fly the camera rig over the bay in St.Petersburg the winch system was rigged on four huge cranes.
With 4 winches and a camera/remote head weight of almost 130 lbs, we managed to fly a wingspan of 180 meters with a topspeed of 12 m/s!!!
With a total rigging size of almost 300 by 200 meters, this rig was one of the biggest rigs ever been at it`s time!
